Magical Island Yurt

Such a gem of a place. We felt absolute peace and serenity. The yurt was clean but we would recommend buying a flying insect light trap for the mosquitos. Although we did not have the opportunity to participate in the aina program, we still felt connected with the land and felt an appreciation for it. We hope to come back to experience this stay again. Thank you!

We really enjoyed our stay at Magical Island Yurt. Location was beautiful and was central to what we needed, Kaimi was very helpful and answered all of our questions quickly. A nice surprise was electricity in the hut so we were able to charge our phones. Such a memorable experience.

Such a precious place on Earth. I adore how the hosts require guests to participate in their ʻĀina program to tend and learn about the sacred land. Staying here means you're supporting locals so please come through to this beautiful experience. Breathtaking views of the tall mountains right in front of you. Serene environment. If you go to the open field near the white tent after rainfall there you might find snails with the most beautiful shells. There are also bright geckos in the plants. Just keep in mind you are camping! Bring bug spray. I got 30+ mosquito bites but my company of 3 other guests with me didn't get any. I overheard a guest startled by the bugs and well, be prepared to kick it with them and be one with nature, it's part of the wonderful experience :) Location wise there are so many yummy choices of food places and gorgeous beaches nearby. We were trying to avoid touristy areas and do some volunteer work, so this place was the best choice. Highly recommend! <3 :)

We really enjoyed staying at this very special place surrounded by nothing but pure nature! The fact that during our stay, in early May (spring) it was always warm to hot, weather-wise, meant that the cool showers did not deter us (as adults, we simply cat-washed our young children ;) all four of us loved sleeping in the yurt, very cool experience! Nohomai was good to communicate and we would definitely recommend this place as a real getaway while staying on Oahu- a special place, truly!

Love staying here to get a different experience that was much needed, the land is beautiful. Very relaxing and a different pace on the other side of the island, loved it.

Incredible stay! I would highly recommend if you are trying to get off the beaten path and experience nature, learn more about the culture here, and partake in caring for the beautiful land.

It was a pleasure staying there! What a beautiful place, with mountains and stunning views. Such a peaceful and spiritual atmosphere. I felt great vibes. It was a wonderful experience with nature. Having breakfast in the morning while looking at the beautiful mountains was truly special!

This was a beautiful getaway from the hustle and bustle of life. The night sky was amazing and listening to the sounds of nature was peaceful. This is camping in a yurt, which we loved. Just know it is not “glamping” the showers and toilets are outdoor but there is plumbing just not hot water. This is all stated in the description. The host was very attentive and provided lots of information and suggestions! We would definitely come back and camp again!

Nohomai’s yurts were incredibly beautiful! We had the most special time soaking in all the mountain views. This location is private and peaceful, but there’s also access to many food trucks/local spots and beaches. I highly recommend this spot if you’re looking for a glamping-esque experience. It had the necessary things (air mattress, pillows, sheets/blankets, and towels). Thanks for a lovely trip, Nohomai!
